Alpha One

Stokebird gave me a reason to try making music about Onewheeling. The result was Sounds of the Ride, released as Alpha One: 27 tracks made with AI music tools, with Miami, floating and a fair number of flock jokes running through the titles.
Miami, floating and the flock
I made the collection for a Stokebird event. The place and the people gave it a subject before there was an album. Miami Madness and Magic City Nights put the city up front. Floating, flow and the jokes we tell around Stokebird run through titles like Flock This City Up, Keep Calm And Flock On and The Flock Flows Slow.
The finished album has 27 tracks and runs just under an hour and forty minutes.
The cover has an illustrated Onewheel in front of palm trees and city shapes, in pink, cyan and yellow. It reads Alpha One Ø1, Sounds of the Ride and Edition 1, with my name along the bottom. That's the artwork attached to the release on the streaming services, so it's the one to look for.
The complete track list
The opening nine tracks are Miami Madness; Magic City Nights; Everybody Float; The Wild South; Grooving To The Vibe; Flowstate; Floating On Life; Flock This City Up; and Keep Calm And Flock On.
Tracks 10 through 18 are Orbit; Miami Riders; Leave It All Behind; Ride It Like You Stole It; The Journey; Rok Out Wit Your 'Boks Out; The Flock Flows Slow; The Edge; and Grind.
The final nine are Playground: Miami; Through The Darkness And The Storm; What Gets Me Through; Float On; Time Machines; What A Ride!; Youth Rediscovered; The Wild South (Remix); and Float Free.
Out beyond the weekend
Sounds of the Ride came out on February 13, 2025, on streaming services including Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube, where the artist is listed as Alpha One Ø1. The release let me share the album beyond the people who had been at Stokebird.
I created the AI music and published the releases.
